Digg = p\/\/n3d (Updated)

Wednesday, May 2, 2007

Many of you probably know that I've been hard at work on my newest site, iPhoneAlley.com. I've been writing day and night for that thing, trying to get things up and running. So I ask my buddy to help spread the word about the place, and he suggests he Digg's it. Sounds like a really good idea to me, so I give the go ahead. A little while later I decide to check on it to see where I rank. It was then that I saw something horrible. Absolutely... terrible.

Digg has officially been p\/\/n3d. Hard. If you're not sure what all the gibberish is, it's actually a HEX code for decrypting HD DVD's. At first, I was outraged that poor digg was defaced like this. But even before I could post this, Kevin Rose himself posted his thoughts on the matter. Essentially, he figures that the community has spoken and he's getting behind us. As far as I know, he's gotten a cease and desist, but is in fact ignoring it.

So, get behind Kevin and digg this story. I know I will.

BREAKING NEWS: Digg just went down a few minutes ago. I had no idea what to think, but thankfully it came back. Unfortunately, when it did, there were even more stories of the HEX code than ever before. I hope they don't crumble for this.
