Whenever I came upon it in movie stores or otherwise, I would always just pass it by. But since Merlin Mann kept mentioning it on Mac Break Weekly, I decided to give it a go. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone should watch The Big Lebowski at least once in their lives.

On a related note, you can watch the movie in its entirety here, thanks to Hulu.com. I know it competes with iTunes and I hate that and bla bla bla, it's cool though. So check out Hulu. Free TV and movies with a little bit of ads peppered in. It's totally free, like it should be.

Enjoi.

Recite to me the number for the cable people

So a funny thing happens when Joe doesn't pay the cable bill on time. Twitter seems to be a good outlet for bouts of frustration and other randomness, but there are things that require more than 140 characters to express.

So... stay subscribed and you may find something pop up from time to time.

-Meigue

Pockets? But sometimes I think something's missing (no, not really, but for the sake of the story, we'll go with it). So some guy that used to work for NASA took matters into his own hands, started playing with the company's office supplies, and came up with the BolsiPlus. What is it, you ask? Wait for it...

Friggin... Pockets. STICKY pockets to be precise. Since these things are space aged NASA invented do-dads you can stick them anywhere, and I mean anywhere. Your Dashboard, MacBook's, submarines, your mom (still in beta), and I think I could even slap one on the side of this post if I really wanted to. According to Snopes, there is no evidence at all that this ever took place. Regardless, the story was able to make it's way around the internet and back quite a few times. It even made it's way to the front page of Digg.

I don't think I need to recall any of the statements I made. They were primarily situational and if something like this did happen, my opinion would remain the same. I feel that I should mention, however, that Mexicans are probably one of my favorite immigrants. Contrary to popular (right-sided) belief, they're really great people and work hard to put food on their families.

Read the Snopes article here

Robbing thwarted by little girl

Last Wednesday LIbertyPost.org posted an article about a young girl saving herself when two illegal immigrants broke into her house with the intention of robbing it and killing all of it's inhabitants. A truly heroic and amazing story. The girl turned out to be a clay shooting champion since the age of nine. When the two criminals broke into the home, she quickly got her father's shotgun and defended herself.

Now, the fact that these two individuals were illegal really irks me. Just a few weeks ago I was discussing the story about an illegal alien that killed a girl while driving drunk. Bill O'Riely and Geraldo Rivera went at it on the factor trying to discern weather this was a story about illegal aliens and drunk drivers. Now, to me, this was clearly a story about a drunk driver. The guy being illegal didn't have anything to do with the fact that he was doing something completely wrong, and had in fact been reprimanded for it previously.

On the other hand, with this story, I'm going to have to take a completely opposite stance. These were two illegals that just waltzed into our country and started robbing homes. Before getting to the girl that heroically took care of them, the two men robbed another home where they stabbed and killed an older gentleman and stole his handgun. In my opinion, this is absolutely inexcusable, and creates a bad name for the people wanting to come here and make a legitimate living. I compltely agree that there needs to be tighter control over our borders, but at the same time we need to make it easier to get in legally. Of course, we need to check these individuals for past criminal behavior (if possible), and make sure they don't commit crimes here. Seriously, this crap needs to be taken care of.

Digg = p\/\/n3d (Updated)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_yXGcd7GHc44/Rjgi9UjAUUI/AAAAAAAAAAw/IHhONwCrO6U/s320/pooned.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5059832618233647426" />
Many of you probably know that I've been hard at work on my newest site, iPhoneAlley.com. I've been writing day and night for that thing, trying to get things up and running. So I ask my buddy to help spread the word about the place, and he suggests he Digg's it. Sounds like a really good idea to me, so I give the go ahead. A little while later I decide to check on it to see where I rank. It was then that I saw something horrible. Absolutely... terrible.

Digg has officially been p\/\/n3d. Hard. If you're not sure what all the gibberish is, it's actually a HEX code for decrypting HD DVD's. At first, I was outraged that poor digg was defaced like this. But even before I could post this, Kevin Rose himself posted his thoughts on the matter. Essentially, he figures that the community has spoken and he's getting behind us. As far as I know, he's gotten a cease and desist, but is in fact ignoring it.

So, get behind Kevin and digg this story. I know I will.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_yXGcd7GHc44/RjgsWkjAUVI/AAAAAAAAAA4/ISmgsem0Ta4/s320/Digg+is+down.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5059842947629994322" />

BREAKING NEWS: Digg just went down a few minutes ago. I had no idea what to think, but thankfully it came back. Unfortunately, when it did, there were even more stories of the HEX code than ever before. I hope they don't crumble for this.

iPhone clone? In fact, they've just come out with a new design (pictured) in an attempt to mitigate any potential (unavoidable) litigation from Apple's lawyers regarding the blatant ripoff of their yet unreleased phone. Come on guys, fess up. You friggin stole the design, loaded Windows Mobile, and h4x0r3d up the interface to make it look even MORE like the phone you say you've hardly even heard of. I don't buy it.

As for the specifics of the phone, Engadget reports that the "miniOne "entrance" model (which will likely be called something else once the English is cleaned up) will lack a camera and cost $195 for the 4GB model and $305 for the 8GB version. So the $285 and $400 price tags we heard about will come affixed to the 4GB and 8GB miniOne "standard" media playin' phone. It also sports an integrated 2 megapixel camera and TD-SCDMA coupled with tri-band GSM/GPRS (no EDGE). Media on both devices will likely be protected by Windows Media DRM10 and feature the same codec support as their other devices. Meizu also confirmed that the miniOne will absolutely, positively play video at 30fps at the device's full 720 x 480 screen resolution."

Honestly, I don't think Meizu has the courage to follow through with this. Even if they do, Apple's going to sue the crap out of them the first day those CrappyOne's go on sale. Meizu, if you do this, consider yourself p\/\/n3d.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://imeigue.blogspot.com/2007/04/iphone-clone-you-must-be-on-drugs.html' title='iPhone clone? Fred and I both know that Steve is an angel and would never do anything against his fellow shareholders.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_yXGcd7GHc44/Ri55eKSSSzI/AAAAAAAAAAg/m-Ap6V2Fy1I/s320/StevePreying.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5057112990647733042" />

The Jobsmeister is untouchable

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_yXGcd7GHc44/Ri5f0qSSSyI/AAAAAAAAAAY/4dTxiAJz32k/s320/jobstable.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5057084789892467490" />
Okay, so we knew that already. But with all of this stock option scandal talk going around at the Loop, it was hard to tell if Steve was going to make it out alive. Recently the SEC laid out it's accusations against two former Apple execs effectively clearing Jobs of any wrongdoing. This is good news to us Apple fanboys literally counting the days until the iPhone launch. Without Jobs and his magnificent leadership, many people would expect the iPhone to be one of Apple's last great innovations before plummeting into a death spiral similar to the one John Scully led Apple into not so long ago. Steve Jobs is the driving force behind Apple and I sincerely hope they stay together for a good long time.

Global Warming A Hoax?

It's no secret to those who know me that I believe global warming is occurring. The big issue is obviously weather or not we're causing it. I've watched Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" and a lot of what he says seems to be accurate and logical. The one thing he does purport that's a little sketchy is that the correlation between CO2 levels and temperature means that one is caused by the other. This Google Video I found seems to offer a very valid argument against his claims.

Bo Burnham - Not gay, etc

I don't know about you, but whenever I go out in public with a guy friend I get looks. You know, the "hey, those guys are gay" look. It's pretty unavoidable, so we generally just ignore it or poke fun at society and it's labels. Anyhow, my great associate Jordan Hoffmann just passed this video along to me. It's one of those viral video deals, so I figured "hey, you have that blog thing, what a great thing to post there". Their first product, the Apple I, was a computer made specifically with ordinary people in mind. Before this, computers were found taking up large rooms and designated to tasks for government and large business needs. The Apple I was a computer that anyone could use and ushered in a new era for technology and ultimately all of human kind. Today marks the birth of the personal computer and one of the most innovative companies of all time.

Happy birthday, Apple.

America gets fatter (again)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_yXGcd7GHc44/Rhqg7Sdc5vI/AAAAAAAAAAQ/CrEcgm1slkk/s320/800px-Eating_Comp_21aug2005.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5051526872477525746" />
Just when you thought you'd seen it all, you realize you'd forgotten the art of competitive eating. America is fat, obviously. I don't really want to rant all that much about it right now, but I just thought this story was worth pointing out.

Now, when I say this I have absolutely no intel to back it up with, but I'm pretty sure a sport that involves eating as much food as allowed by the laws of physics in an extremely constrained amount of time in competition with others is equally the most American and most disgusting sport conceived. Seriously people, what about those dying children in Africa? Sure, without them there would be no shiny white bricks to hold my massive MP3 collection which may or may not be completely legal, but we need to focus on the real issue here. Eating competitively is a step in the wrong direction for us fatties in the USA. I could see that if such an event were sponsored by McDonald's there would be some dark, twisted humor in there that I could poke a ridiculous amount of fun at but lets see, does McDonald's have chicken wings on their menu? Last time I checked, no. And if there were, trust me, there wouldn't be any bones for the kid to swallow. But like I said before, I'm not going to rant about "fat America". There are much more interesting things afoot.

So if you haven't already heard, I've got a jobbie, Freddie. Yes, Mr. "cut your hair, you hippie" has a job "working for the man". What can I say, I want an iPhone. It's what separates the men from the animals. No, not the job, the iPhone. And I don't give a crap if the phone is Cingular only. Let me think, when was the last time I had a cell phone? Three, maybe FOUR years ago? The point is, I won't know the difference between good and bad service. Ignorance is bliss, unless you don't have an iPhone, in which case you're a dummy (or smarter than me regarding cell carriers).

Don't get me wrong though, I have no intention of "working for the man" too long. Hopefully if all goes well, I can market myself as a "web developer/designer" and maybe fix iPods on the side to make money. It'll definitely be more than I'm making at CrapUSA, I'll tell you that much. Then in a year's time, I'll quit that frigtard job and move on to better, shinier, sleeker, and more single-buttoned things.

Now, in other news, you people may have heard rumblings that a movie based upon the smash hit television series "24" is fast approaching. I'm not sure about that, but my esteemed colleague Mr. Ventimiglia has just brought some amazing news to my attention. Aqua Teen Hunger Force, also known as the greatest cartoon on earth (and some other planets), will soon hit the big screen. Seriously folks, this is great news. "Aqua Teen Hunger Force colon Movie Film for Theaters" should be out sometime this April, and I can't wait. That thing down there is the trailer and I suggest you check it out.

Intense.
